Margaret N. Oliver is an American creative based out of Pullman, Washington. Her home studio is right on Main Street, two blocks from Grand. When not working on fine art drawing, painting, or sculpture she can be found writing short stories or editing academic papers. In her free-time she loves reading, edible gardening, culinary experimentation, and quality moments with her family.
She offers photographic services to the communities of the Palouse, such as portrait, event, and product photography. To local business owners and not-for-profits, she offers assistance with promotional and outreach needs. Additionally, she offers creative assistance to area writers though illustrative, editorial, and promotional services.
“Providing a variety of skills to creatively inject professionalism and life into communication and outreach efforts is the core of what I do. Some people have come to me after they have tried their uncle, cousin, or the kid fresh out of college and wound up burned. Others have come to me inspired to launch new businesses and in dire need to find new clients. I have also enjoyed working with not-for-profits (start-ups and existing groups) to implement outreach campaigns, photograph staff in action, and more.”
People frequently ask what exactly it is that a visual designer does when working on projects for clients. Mostly, it entails being responsible for developing competitive and engaging solutions across an array of digital channels whether it be content on social media, video or email marketing campaigns, or landing pages for websites. These can be viewable across a variety of platforms such as mobile devices and desktop machines. All the while, visual designers ensure that every message and every image lines up with clients’ budgets and branding expectations.
“Margaret is detail oriented while not forgetting about the big picture. She is able to keep to a budget. Her work is of excellent quality.”
“Margaret has done a lot for Sunny’s Lawn Care. She helped us from our startup days with marketing strategy, social media, and local business directory advertising which has resulted in growth, especially over this past year… Highly recommend her, she’s very creative and thinks outside the box.”
